wow

...it's been a while.

I wish I could say a lot has changed, but it didn't. Then again I hardly notice changes within myself. But it's the same place, same situation, and same feelings, maybe a bit magnified yet still the same. I wounder if tomorrow is going to be different.

...if only life was as sweet as marmalade

back where we started

Well I'm back in C-town (as the cool kids call it,) my trip back was alright except for the part where I missed my connecting flight, I hate JFK (the airport!)
spent most of the trip reading switching between Dr. Alkhateeb's memoirs, which are truly a delight to read, and my first Laila Alothman novel.
things seem to be as usual here though crowded. I'm still not comprehending being here, and leaving was especially hard after experiencing Ramadan back home for the first time in three years.

a song for the times.

MTC----->Zain

Aside from the unfortunate news about MTC (Mobile Telecommunications Company), one of Kuwaits' biggest and most successful corporations, leaving Kuwait as its HQ for neighboring Bahrain for reasons obvious to anybody who knows anything about the business environment in Kuwait.

MTC started the ad campaign for it's re-branding as Zain (with a new logo and image) in Kuwait and the region, to have a more global appeal, ending by that it's 5 year partnership with Vodafone. Here's a street ad that I noticed while driving:

Shakespeare's got nothing on me!

unexpectedly... the sisters B and I took a ...

road trip to...

to attend the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, since we didn't plan we might not get a chance to attend an actual play, but who cares he's overrated really!

it's really lively in the evening compared to Corvallis (where I live for now), it seems like there's a lot for us to see and do.

we heard a lot about the restaurant scene in Ashland and there's no Shortage of them. we ended having dinner at the black sheep, a charming old place. don't bother going there for the food though; it's horrible, then again it's British =P

Well off to bed for me, tomorrow's a busy day.

What Happened To The Summer Of Love!

To find out what ever happened to the real summer of love click here.

This summer has been the most uneventful summer that I could remember, dull, dreary and dumb. Yes dumb; because instead of traveling the world, gaining some work experience or even relaxing at home, I decided to stay in this deadbeat of a town and on top of that take classes. with the exception of three weekends where I stayed in Portland on one, moved on another and visited a newly opened Ikea near PDX on another.

He was in town, how sad is that!

This was my hotel view of Portland

My old apartment, goodbye crammed space.

Well with that said I must say that I'm utterly excited to be traveling once again, though I don't plan on visiting places that I haven't been to before, still the same excited (just the idea of being in London brings me back to life). ON the itinerary: museum hoping in New York, retail therapy in London, old friends reunion in Paris and of course Ramadan with family in Kuwait. ^^

Lack of Colour

It's been a month. I know I know... doesn't seem like a good start, but if you live where I live you would understand. Don't get me wrong though, I really like this place; I mean it fits some traits of mine best like environmental consciousness, by god the the state motto is "We Love Dreamers", what more could I ask for. Though you see there's a lack of interest, excitement or things to write about... a lack of color if you will.

How about a May update then:
  • I turned 22!
  • still single, and not looking that much.
  • ignored by a woman, and haunted by another.
  • bade farewell to a dear friend (for now).
  • immersed into 19 (quarter) credits of school work.

This might give you an impression that I'm a bit down, I actually woke up feeling especially good this morning and wrote this:

.

.

.

.

.

P.S. Sorry I'm not going to translate it to English, but you can try Google translator and instead of a poem you'll get a bad joke.

Hello World!

I've been blog crazy for quite a while now, especially with Kuwaiti political and quasi-political blogs, yet have restrained myself from blogging(as if). Actually to tell you the truth I've just developed the courage to expose my ideas, thoughts and most arduously ME!
So long story short, it's 2007 so it's about time and I'm not getting any younger, better start then.

I consider this blog to be my humble yet ample contribution to the Diffusion of the Innovation that is blogging, being a late adopter of the trend and hope it's not a fad for me. This blog is my niche in the web to blabber freely about my day and other delightful nonsense, and at times to discover, explore and critique every thing that is life; from food to religion and from politics to art. in the hope that we'll share our views, so don't be a stranger my new friend.

Lets inspire one another
